Curb side & Driveway Service:
Once or twice per week available with recycling program. (Plastics 1 & 2, aluminum cans & newspapers)
All recycling must be clean & newspapers must be tied and bundled.
Town of North Salem Residential Garbage & Recyling Collection:
Household Garbage:
- Once a week collection (see street listing) includes food wastes and trash that can be put into normal garbage cans not weighing more than 60 pounds each when full.
- 4 - 30 gallon pail limit per household
- Additional service, such as in-driveway rear-door, are available directly from BRIA CARTING. The cost for these additional services is paid three months in advance. Please call 914.277.4211 for additional information.
- Household garbage must be out by 6:00am on scheduled collection days, no more than 4 feet from curb (see street listing). Your recyclables may be picked up earlier (or later) than your regular garbage collection.
- Paint cans will only be picked up if they are empty or do not contain liquuid paint. If you have any question regarding disposal of paint, call BRIA CARTING.
- For special pick-up of materials such as construction debris or bulky household items not routinely picked up during regular refuse service, call 914.277.4211 to make pick-up arrangements. The cost of these additional services are paiddirectly to BRIA CARTING.
Newspapers, Magazines, Commingles Recyclables:
- Once a week collection (see schedule).
- All goods should be out for pick-up by 6:00am.
- All newspapers and magazines must be tied in bundles or put securely in paper bags;
- commingled recyclables in approved blue or clear recycling plastic bags.
Curb-Side Yard Waste Pick-up
- Grass clippings and leaves will be picked up on Wednesdays on the dates listed below.
- Grass and leaves must be placed in biodegradable bags and placed curbside by 6:00am for collection.
- Bags cannot be larger than 30 gallons and there is a limit of 20 bags per household per month.

Bulk Drop-Off
- Bulk drop-off is for resident's household items only, on the third Saturday of each month between the hours of 9:00am and 12:00pm at Town Highway Department.
- Each household is limited to 2 cubic yards. Any bulk in excess of that amount must be paid for directly to BRIA CARTING.
- The following items will NOT be accepted for bulk drop-off:

NO Lumber
NO Chemicals
NO Used Oils

NO Bricks

Construction, renovation or remodeling debris, including kitchens, baths, deck and windows will NOT be accepted.
Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners or any other appliance containing Freon must be discharged and tagged by a State authorized specialist.
North Salem residents are to call BRIA CARTING at 914.232.1043 to make an appointment prior to the scheduled drop-off date.
Residents MUST supply BRIA with their name, block and lot number prior to the drop-off date.
Holiday Trees
- Will be picked up January 12, 2011.
Winter Weather
- Please listen to WHUD Storm Center, 100.7 FM, for all delays and closings. Driveways must be free of ice and snow for in-driveway, in-garage and back-door pick-up.
